Rob Smith Reaches out to Young Black Conservatives with Non-Profit ‘The Douglass Society’

Hilton Tell us your ░░░░░░░░ here What are you ░░░░░░░░ to achieve How will ░░░░░░░░ get it done Smith ░░░░░░░░ absolutely So I got ░░░░░░░░ idea for The Douglass ░░░░░░░░ I was speaking at ░░░░░░░░ conservative conference a couple ░░░░░░░░ ago and I noticed ░░░░░░░░ I was one of ░░░░░░░░ black people there And ░░░░░░░░ know it wasn t ░░░░░░░░ conservatives or Republicans are ░░░░░░░░ or anything like that ░░░░░░░░ s just that there ░░░░░░░░ no pipeline to get ░░░░░░░░ black conservatives involved so ░░░░░░░░ decided to create this ░░░░░░░░ What we want to ░░░░░░░░ with The Douglas Society ░░░░░░░░ threefold We want to ░░░░░░░░ out to young disaffected ░░░░░░░░ American Democrats independents and ░░░░░░░░ where they are Now ░░░░░░░░ generally tends to be ░░░░░░░░ on social media and ░░░░░░░░ Internet because they re ░░░░░░░░ generally going to mainstream ░░░░░░░░ outlets so I decided ░░░░░░░░ build this website and ░░░░░░░░ page and specifically on ░░░░░░░░ DouglassSociety to highlight the ░░░░░░░░ black conservatives that are ░░░░░░░░ things out there in ░░░░░░░░ media people from Sen ░░░░░░░░ Scott to our great ░░░░░░░░ Byron Donalds to our ░░░░░░░░ congressman Burgess Owens to ░░░░░░░░ myriad of black conservative ░░░░░░░░ leaders that are out ░░░░░░░░ and there is no ░░░░░░░░ online where you can ░░░░░░░░ all of this stuff ░░░░░░░░ now Second of all ░░░░░░░░ want to highlight the ░░░░░░░░ that these people are ░░░░░░░░ and eventually once we ░░░░░░░░ up this platform we ░░░░░░░░ to get out into ░░░░░░░░ communities and partner with ░░░░░░░░ that are already showing ░░░░░░░░ for African Americans Because ░░░░░░░░ ve got to tell ░░░░░░░░ Steve and I say ░░░░░░░░ as a proud Republican ░░░░░░░░ that is a registered ░░░░░░░░ we just don t ░░░░░░░░ enough as a party ░░░░░░░░ reach out to African ░░░░░░░░ and show up where ░░░░░░░░ are when it s ░░░░░░░░ six weeks before an ░░░░░░░░ So the work that ░░░░░░░░ to be done in ░░░░░░░░ to engage these young ░░░░░░░░ millennials that are independent ░░░░░░░░ leaning leaning and even ░░░░░░░░ Democrats needs to start ░░░░░░░░ So that is what ░░░░░░░░ plan to do with ░░░░░░░░ Douglass Society We have ░░░░░░░░ a great launch there ░░░░░░░░ a lot of interest ░░░░░░░░ s a lot of ░░░░░░░░ donating there s a ░░░░░░░░ of people following us ░░░░░░░░ social media So it ░░░░░░░░ very exciting to launch ░░░░░░░░ and be a part ░░░░░░░░ this Steve Hilton So ░░░░░░░░ I mean look actually ░░░░░░░░ the end I want ░░░░░░░░ make sure you tell ░░░░░░░░ how they can get ░░░░░░░░ So if you are ░░░░░░░░ get ready with however ░░░░░░░░ want to note it ░░░░░░░░ on your phone or ░░░░░░░░ of paper Rob is ░░░░░░░░ to tell us that ░░░░░░░░ I just think it ░░░░░░░░ so interesting because this ░░░░░░░░ a conversation ever since ░░░░░░░░ have been involved in ░░░░░░░░ politics back in the ░░░░░░░░ K it s been ░░░░░░░░ of the conversation And ░░░░░░░░ I think makes this ░░░░░░░░ different moment is the ░░░░░░░░ that frankly you are ░░░░░░░░ You ve got someone ░░░░░░░░ energy who will go ░░░░░░░░ there and lead it ░░░░░░░░ add credibility I think ░░░░░░░░ is what is so ░░░░░░░░ What kind of response ░░░░░░░░ you getting so far ░░░░░░░░ I m getting an ░░░░░░░░ response You know from ░░░░░░░░ launch video that we ░░░░░░░░ put out to a ░░░░░░░░ of videos that I ░░░░░░░░ out sort of highlighting ░░░░░░░░ Owens and all of ░░░░░░░░ content that is coming ░░░░░░░░ in the coming days ░░░░░░░░ weeks people are really ░░░░░░░░ about this You know ░░░░░░░░ are sharing this people ░░░░░░░░ sharing the content And ░░░░░░░░ thing about it is ░░░░░░░░ there is nothing out ░░░░░░░░ that s reaching out ░░░░░░░░ these people on social ░░░░░░░░ right now where they ░░░░░░░░ right now because like ░░░░░░░░ said they re not ░░░░░░░░ in mainstream media outlets ░░░░░░░░ black Americans are bombarded ░░░░░░░░ leftism from the entertainment ░░░░░░░░ watch from the media ░░░░░░░░ we watch from the ░░░░░░░░ and rappers and ball ░░░░░░░░ and all of that ░░░░░░░░ stuff So it was ░░░░░░░░ to me that something ░░░░░░░░ this did not exist ░░░░░░░░ now But it does ░░░░░░░░ hope people love it ░░░░░░░░ hope they love the ░░░░░░░░ There s a lot ░░░░░░░░ of it coming And ░░░░░░░░ go to DouglassSociety com ░░░░░░░░ s Douglass with two ░░░░░░░░ as in Frederick Douglass ░░░░░░░░ go to Facebook and ░░░░░░░░ DouglassSociety to donate check ░░░░░░░░ out and see what ░░░░░░░░ re all about.”
