Wheel of Fortune Contestant Doesn’t Regret a Thing, Not Even Mispronouncing Achilles (Mediaite)

Julian Batts, an Indiana University freshman whose recent Wheel of Fortune appearance set a new record for televised futility, told Good Morning America on Monday he didn’t regret a thing.

“It was a dream,” Batts said. “It was one of the greatest experiences I’ve accomplished so far.”

Batts’ first and most glaring flub came when he solved the puzzle “Mythological Hero Achilles,” but mispronounced the warrior’s name — ironically, as glorious immortality was pretty much Achilles’ whole bag.

“It kind of hit me like a train,” Batts said. “I didn’t really know how to react to it.”

“I didn’t feel like I made a mistake,” he continued. “I mean, I had solved the puzzle entirely, and really all I had to do was read it. I just went for it, and did my best.”
