HARRIS: "Well, look, I think we both agree, people shouldn’t have to go to jail for smoking weed."

KIMMEL: "You don’t go to jail for drinking alcohol."
HARRIS: "Right."
KIMMEL: "Why would you go to jail for smoking weed?"
HARRIS: "And we’ve pardoned a number of people. I think it's interesting also, because remember, there was a time when people would say, well, marijuana is a gateway drug."
KIMMEL: "Yes."
HARRIS: "These were failed policies, right? The resources should be better directed and will be better directed to deal with opioid addiction and what we need to do around fentanyl, getting more resources into mental health and mental health care, right? That’s a smarter way."
