MCQUADE: "It is necessary in a democracy to be able to speak truth to power. But for that reason, I think it makes any effort to try to put limits on what we can say on social media and elsewhere very suspicious and people will use the word censorship to stop anything they don’t like. And, we all so shy away from the word censorship, that it is a powerful word. But, we can do a lot of things to try to check some of the disinformation that’s out there, short of censorship. You know on social media, which has grown completely unregulated in the past decade."
