Houston Police Chief Blames State Texas Officials for Inefficient Power Supply
‘We have come close to losing the power grid’
EXCERPT:
ACEVEDO: "Well, I can tell you that it’s over a million Houstonians that are out of power. A lot of folks think that the local government, that the mayor and our city is responsible for the power grid. But in Texas, it’s the state that runs the grid. I’ll be honest with you, I think that I join a lot of Texans to say we’re pretty upset with our state leadership because they were not prepared. This was not a surprise to any of us, and I think we need to look at what's going on with ERCOT, which is our state agency that runs the power grid, because we've come close to losing the power grid. And people are dying as a result. There’s really no excuse for it."
