Politico’s Anita Kumar: Trump Objects to Virtual Debate Because He’s Afraid Moderators Would Be Able to Cut Him Off
EXCERPT:
KUMAR: "The President has never been interested in that. Last week, when we sort of wondered if it would go this way, if the commission would do this, I had talked to a lot of people that are close to the President that said he just wouldn't want to do that, and for a couple of reasons. One, he just doesn't get to be as aggressive when he's not in person, he doesn't get to have that back and forth like he likes to have. The other reason is, if you recall, there was all that talk about whether there should be a button to try to stop him from talking when he's interrupting, and he didn't — he was not in favor of that. He is afraid that if they do this, they would be able to cut him off whenever they want. So, for those logistical reasons he doesn't like it.”
