Stewart: PATRIOT Act Didn’t Help Prevent Recent Terrorist Attacks on U.S.
‘So if the PATRIOT act is working that poorly, why are all these guys so adamant we have to keep it?’
STEWART: "It's that the government is making the case that this controversial provision for the N.S.A. is what's been so effective. But we have been hit by terrorist acts. Lone wolf or otherwise. The Fort Hood shooting, the cartoon contest in Texas, the Boston bombing, and in each case those are individuals our government had been alerted about, did know about. So if the PATRIOT act is working that poorly, why are all these guys so adamant we have to keep it? It's like one of the "Jurrasic Park" staff saying we can't debate the finer points of our security right now, we're dealing with our fourth consecutive dinosaur escape."
