EXCERPT:

FRANCIS: “I mean when you talk about that, if you look at the numbers with Dianne Feinstein and she took the top slot with 43 percent of the vote. Kevin de Leon who is you know, far to the left of Feinstein came in second. He only had 10 percent of the vote. So there's a huge gap there. And the difference between him and the Republican who came in third was only about a percent. So that's what you're saying, that huge gap.""
SABATO: "Yes."
FRANCIS: "Does that tell you anything or does that just speak to how long and how strong that Dianne Feinstein has been in that state?”
SABATO: “Well I think it's a bit of both but I think it's more the latter. You know, in my view Dianne Feinstein is providing an alternate definition of optimism, which is running for six-year term when you are 85 years old and that's great. We wish her good health for a long time. But she is very, very strong."
