HOST You know Nicole ░░░░░░░░ we ve been watching ░░░░░░░░ coverage of the protests ░░░░░░░░ the country we are ░░░░░░░░ peaceful protesters and then ░░░░░░░░ re also seeing destruction ░░░░░░░░ looting There is a ░░░░░░░░ of raging debate I ░░░░░░░░ in this country about ░░░░░░░░ you express dissent and ░░░░░░░░ is the appropriate or ░░░░░░░░ to express dissent The ░░░░░░░░ President Barack Obama said ░░░░░░░░ know that esentially there ░░░░░░░░ no excuse for any ░░░░░░░░ of violent violence rather ░░░░░░░░ a statement condemning the ░░░░░░░░ of violence I want ░░░░░░░░ because one of the ░░░░░░░░ you offer is a ░░░░░░░░ perspective and context most ░░░░░░░░ context when we look ░░░░░░░░ people rioting and looting ░░░░░░░░ no doubt some of ░░░░░░░░ victims of the looting ░░░░░░░░ going to be businesses ░░░░░░░░ are African American businesses ░░░░░░░░ are we going to ░░░░░░░░ what we see there ░░░░░░░░ know the president called ░░░░░░░░ thugs What is it ░░░░░░░░ we re looking at ░░░░░░░░ or and maybe it ░░░░░░░░ just not one thing ░░░░░░░░ I think one we ░░░░░░░░ to be really careful ░░░░░░░░ our language Yes it ░░░░░░░░ disturbing to see property ░░░░░░░░ destroyed It s disturbing ░░░░░░░░ see people property from ░░░░░░░░ But these are things ░░░░░░░░ violence is when an ░░░░░░░░ of the state kneels ░░░░░░░░ a man s neck ░░░░░░░░ all of the life ░░░░░░░░ leached out of his ░░░░░░░░ Destroying property which can ░░░░░░░░ replaced is not violence ░░░░░░░░ to put those things ░░░░░░░░ use the exact same ░░░░░░░░ to describe those two ░░░░░░░░ I think really is ░░░░░░░░ moral to do that ░░░░░░░░ yes I think any ░░░░░░░░ person would say we ░░░░░░░░ t be destroying other ░░░░░░░░ s property But these ░░░░░░░░ not reasonable times These ░░░░░░░░ people who have testified ░░░░░░░░ police violence again and ░░░░░░░░ and again year after ░░░░░░░░ and still we can ░░░░░░░░ videos of law enforcement ░░░░░░░░ witnesses nonchalantly taking the ░░░░░░░░ of of man for ░░░░░░░░ alleged crime of passing ░░░░░░░░ fake 20 bill So ░░░░░░░░ we have people who ░░░░░░░░ that people should respect ░░░░░░░░ law they re not ░░░░░░░░ the law because the ░░░░░░░░ is not respecting them ░░░░░░░░ can t say that ░░░░░░░░ regular citizens should play ░░░░░░░░ the rules when agents ░░░░░░░░ the state are clearly ░░░░░░░░ not.”
